What actually prompted me to bring out the camera after leaving the kitchen compost as an offering at the foot of the great wall of buckthorn last night, was the sight of these budding cherry blossoms, which in the waning light (and because I was not wearing my glasses), looked like tiny shiny silver balls, like you see on some Christmas decorations.
