Arbor Day

Last week I planted my 10 baby Abror Day trees in this ugly bed that may protect them from the herbivores. I sifted the soil through 1/2-inch hardware cloth and mulched with leaves and sticks that I raked off the trails in the woods.

The trees are not all native to this area, but I planted them anyway. There are 2 each of:

1.	Malus sargentii	- Sargent's apple	- Japan
2.	Cercis canadensis	- Eastern Redbud	- Eastern North America
3.	Crataegus phaenopyrum	- Washington Hawthorn	- Lower Midwest to Southeast U.S.
4.	Cornus florida	- Flowering Dogwood	- Eastern North America
5.	Koelreuteria paniculata	- Goldenraintree	- Eastern Asia
